Gentle cleaning of wood, aluminum and vinyl to remove mildew, pollen and grime without damaging the surface.
Humid summers grow mildew, spring brings pollen and trees drop leaves and sap. A dirty pergola looks tired and breaks down faster. A proper cleaning brings back the color and helps finishes last.
We clean pergolas and nearby surfaces with the right method for each material. For wood, we use low pressure and cleaners that lift mildew and gray without gouging fibers. For aluminum and vinyl, we use gentle washing that does not harm coatings. We rinse thoroughly and protect plants and surfaces. Cleaning is gentle work when it is done properly. We start with the mildest method that works, test it on a hidden area and keep the nozzle at a safe distance from wood fibers and finishes. We pay attention to the spots that stay damp, such as post bases and the tops of beams, and we follow up with simple advice about airflow, trimming plants and scheduling the next wash.
High pressure can scar wood. We use controlled pressure, cleaners made for wood and a soft brush where needed.
Mild soap and a soft wash remove grime and chalk. Harsh chemicals can dull coatings, so we avoid them.
Mildew roots in shaded wood. Cleaners kill the growth, and we recommend sealing to slow its return.
We cover plants and electronics, and rinse runoff away from planters and lawns.
