Paver and stone patios laid on a compacted base, sized and shaped to fit a pergola and the way you entertain.
A pergola needs a floor, and a paver patio is one of the best. Pavers are strong, attractive and easy to repair, and they come in colors and patterns to suit any house. A well-laid patio stays flat and drains well for many years.
We lay paver and natural stone patios with an excavated, compacted base and edge restraints, then cut and set each paver carefully. We plan slope for drainage, size the patio for the furniture and structures and coordinate pergola footings with the patio so the posts sit exactly where they belong. Pavers reward patience in the early steps. We mark the layout, check slopes with a level and string line, remove soft soil and bring in crushed stone in lifts, compacting each one. Edge restraints lock the field in place, and a thin bed of sand lets us set each paver to a consistent height. The result is a surface that stays flat, drains well and looks sharp under a new pergola.
Most failed patios have a poor base. We excavate to depth, add compacted stone and screed a level bed so pavers stay flat.
Concrete pavers are economical and varied. Natural stone and porcelain pavers have a high-end look. We help you choose color and pattern.
A patio should slope slightly away from the house. We plan drains and grading to keep water away from the structure.
Posts can sit on footings that pass through or sit beside the patio. We plan this early to avoid cutting finished work.
